Fernandina Beach, Florida – Florida Public Utilities Company (FPU), Sharp Energy and Florida City Gas (FCG), subsidiaries of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, are monitoring projections for Hurricane Milton in Florida and are prepared to respond if the storm impacts our service areas.

FPU, Sharp Energy and FCG have adjusted Company staffing and are preparing electric, natural gas and propane personnel in Florida and in service areas outside of Florida to respond to any potential service interruptions that may result from heavy rain and high wind gusts.

Florida City Gas (FCG)

  • FCG customers should report service interruptions or gas emergencies at 1.888.352.5325. For storm updates and additional safety information, please visit our websites at com, fpupropane.com or floridacitygas.com.

Should the storm impact our customers, the restoration priority plan calls for initial restoration to critical community infrastructure, such as public health and safety organizations. Restoration efforts will begin when conditions are safe to do so.

It is important that customers who use critical medical equipment take necessary steps to prepare for the storm and have appropriate back-up battery support in the event of potential outages. If you or a member of your family is disabled and may need assistance during storm evacuation, call your Emergency Management Agency office.
