Emissions Reductions Efforts within our Operating Footprint
We are committed to continually improving the carbon footprint and the energy efficiency of all our operations. In 2019, we began reporting our Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions. Driven by our commitment to continuous improvement, we have continued to refine our data collection, measurement and reporting processes.
Managing emissions while excelling at growth
We receive a limited level of assurance for our reported GHG emissions from an independent third party, conducted in accordance with ISO 14064-Part 3: Specification with Guidance for the Verification of Greenhouse Gas Statements and ISAE 3000 Revised, Assurance Engagements Other than Audits or Reviews of Historical Information, and included verification of our reporting methodologies for GHG emissions data in accordance with the WRI/WBCSD Greenhouse Gas Protocol: A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard (Revised Edition).
Excludes Florida City Gas, which we acquired on Nov. 30, 2023.
Continuing to minimize our environmental footprint remains a priority
We continue to pilot Project Canary® Sensirion Connected Solutions Nubo Sphere methane monitoring devices at two above-ground facilities and are evaluating other locations where these devices may be able to assist us in further refining the emissions profile of our operations and the energy we deliver.
We are integrating two new advanced mobile leak detection (AMLD) vehicles across our service territories; we anticipate this technology will further support our emission reduction efforts by pinpointing leak emission sources in minutes.
In 2024, we established a cross-functional Methane Emissions Reduction Committee (MERC), focused on identifying and recommending ways to further reduce methane emissions for our transmission and gathering operations.
