Offering Help When It’s Needed Most
We created the Chesapeake Utilities Corporation SHARING fund in 1983 to help ensure that those facing financial hardship are able to pay their energy bills when financial assistance is needed most.
Thanks to donations from Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, our customers, employees and the community, we’ve distributed more than $800,000 in grants over the past 20 years.
SHARING Program Grants
Grants through the SHARING program are available to eligible customers of Chesapeake Utilities, Chesapeake Elkton Gas, Sandpiper Energy and Sharp Energy. We have grants for:
- Income-eligible customers who need help paying for heating or cooling needs
- Individuals who are recently unemployed because of unusual circumstances
- Customers in need due to serious illness or family tragedy
- Appliance purchase or needed repair
- Pursuing energy efficiency measures
