Dover, Delaware — Michael P. McMasters, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation (NYSE: CPK) announced that the Board of Directors appointed Elaine B. Bittner Senior Vice President of Strategic Development, at their meeting earlier this month.
“Elaine’s experience, leadership, and drive to deliver results make her an asset to our leadership team and our Company,” said Mr. McMasters. “Since assuming the role as Vice President of Strategic Development in 2010, Elaine has enhanced our strategic planning process to help improve strategic thinking across the Company; played a lead role in developing our new business strategy and has significantly improved our corporate communications, human resources and government affairs functions. Elaine’s work to develop our internal and external Brand Strategy contributed to Chesapeake being honored as one of the 2012 Top Workplaces in Delaware.”
Ms. Bittner has more than sixteen years of experience in the utilities industry. Previously, she has held various positions within the Company, including Vice President of Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company (“Eastern Shore”), the Company’s natural gas transmission subsidiary, from 2005 to 2010; Director of Eastern Shore, Director of Customer Services and Regulatory Affairs for Eastern Shore, Director of Environmental Affairs for Chesapeake and Environmental Engineer.
